My father, Gordon Brant, was a radio operator assigned to Cerignola Base( 824th Squadron). He really never spoke of his war experiences there, and is now recently deceased. Does anyonw know whether he was part of the ground "radio" crew, or assigned as a B-24 air crew? Also, he has always been leary of flying anywhere....just wondered if he may have had a bad expierience on an air mission. I sure would appreciate any information from anyone who may have known him!

Good morning.
I found your father mentioned in Torretta Flyer #15 on pages 19 and 20. According to what your father said in his letter to the editor, he was assigned to the Communication section located behind the 484th Headquarters. Based on this, I would say your father was not assigned to an air crew.
