Hi my name is Linda, and I live in Plattsburgh, NY. I work to save history, I bought some old documents at an old now closed antique store in Redford, NY. I found some articles on Samuel Howes, Jr. Lt, who died on a mission over Austria May 10, 1944, he was first stationed at Maxwell field for training in May 1943, I thought that I had read or seen somewhere that he married someone down there and there was a child from that marriage, his parents were from ONeida,Utica, Ny. I know the chances are slim to none in finding a family member but was just wondering if anybody might know anything.I love to get things back to family members if possible. I have created a family tree for him on ancestry even though I am not related to him. and have created his memorial on findagrave website with photos of the articles that I have. If anybody has any information on him please notify me at pcboss@charter.net. Thank you and bless you all for your service .

Linda According to the Missing Air Crew Report (#4746), Samuel was married. His wife's name was Jessie and she lived on Route Number One in some city in Alabama (I can't read the MACR since it is so blurred). I would assume that it was some place near Montgomery which was where Maxwell Air Base was located. Sorry I can't help out more than that. Bob Dixon Jr.
