Hi, I just came across the 484th board and thought I would see if anyone knew my grandfather:
James Kenneth Baker (who often went by J.K. Baker or Ken Baker) from Calhoun, LA. Flew 37 missions with the 824th February 1943 to July 1945. He was a Flight Engineer and trained at Harlingen, TX.
My mother and I have a number of his wartime & service effects including his mission log, and I would be happy to provide more information if anyone might find it useful.
If anyone has any stories, recollections, etc., they would be welcome and much appreciated!
Thanks, Todd

My great great uncle was also a part of 824th. His name was Ben Olds. I really don't know any information about his service record, other than what I have found on this website. Have you come across that in anything you have?

Todd -
I was with the 824th Squadron from it's inception in Harvard, NE thru the end of the war. Working as part of the operations unit I knew most everybody in the squadron.
Have most of the 484th Bomb Group magazines which is a good source for information on crews, etc.
Please contact me throu my e-mail address --- which is gorjune@straitsarea.com.
